The blue dragon watched as the townsfolf fled from their homes,
terrified. ~Serves them right. I should have done a lot worse, considering
how they treated me.~ The dragon had set fire to a couple of empty buildings
and created quite a commotion. The people had been scared, but she hadn't
done any real harm. The dragon began to walk towards the market, but stopped
upon hearing a voice behind her.
"That wasn't very nice, dragon." Without turning around, the dragon
shifted to her human form.
"They weren't very nice to me either. If you wish to live I suggest you
leave."
"I've never met a blue dragon maiden before."
"I am only half dragon maiden. Would you like to see what else I am?"
Without waiting for a reply she turned on the young man. He gave a startled
gasp when he saw her slitted purple eyes.
"Ma-mazoku?"
"You bet. DEMONIC FANG!" The attack lodged into the wall of a house
behind the young man, an inch over his head. "Next time I won't miss. I'm
getting some provisions then leaving. You can tell the villagers that it will
be safe to return."
"You can tell them yourself. Here they come." The villages were indeed
returning, wielding assorted weapons.
The dragon maiden growled in frustration and disgust. She shifted back to
dragon shape as the young man watched and flew off.
"Interesting. Well, since I have nothing else to do..." He shifted and
suddenly in his place stood a majestic golden dragon. He took to the skies,
following the blue dragon.
***************************************************************************************************
The blue dragon maiden landed beside a small lake in the middle of a
forest. She was truly a beautiful creature, her cobalt scales glittered in
the sun. Her wings were suck a dark blue that they appeared almost black. She
had three silver horns on her head, and silver claws. Around her neck was a
silver band with a pearl in the center. Her long brown hair fell over her
shoulder in a loose braid.
She shifted, and was a human-looking girl again. Now she wore a gown the
same cobalt as her scales. It had a low neckline, and poofy off-the-shoulder
sleeves that went down almost to her elbows. A pearl was set in the center of
the neckline, and she wore a doubble string of pearls around her neck. Her
hair was still in a braid.
"Curse that jerk! He distracted me before I could steal any supplies. Now
I'm out here with no food and a bunch of angry villagers after me." She felt
a rush of air behind her and whirled. A golden dragon landed a few feet away.
It shifted and took human form. ~That's the jerk from earlier!~
The dragon by was a centimeter or two taller than her.He had black hair a
few inches longer than hers braided down his back. He had a few bangs and his
hair shone purple where the sun hit it. His eyes were amber, almost gold. He
wore an outfit similar to Zelgadis's except it was black, the jewel was a
deep blue, and it lacked the hood.
"So you're a dragon too? Doesn't matter. Get in my way and you're dead.
Make me really mad and I'll use your own magic to kill you."
"Not exactly a people person, are you?"
"I have my reasons. Being half mazoku and half dragon maiden, I'm not
exactly welcomed in too many places."
"Don't you have any friends?"
"Two, not counting my family, but I havn't seen any of them in months.
Hey! Why am I telling you all of this? I don't even know who you are."
"I'm Kin Kohaku."
The mazoku dragon maiden raised an eyebrow.
"Kin Kohaku?"
He shrugged.
"Strange parents. Now, who are you?" She paused, considering whether he
was trustworthy, and if she should tell him, or blast him and steal anything
helpful. Loneliness made the decision for her.
"I'm Ryuuko. Ryuuko Metallium."
***************************************************************************************************
"So Ryuuko, where are we going?"
"What do you mean 'we' "
"Well, I thought that since I have nothing else to do, and since we're
friends now-"
"Look you. Just because I gave you my name doesn't mean we're
frie-oof!" Ryuuko was cut off by Kin knocking her backwards. The arrow that
passed through the air where she had just been standing went unnoticed. "What
do you think you're doing?!? Get off me!! Hentai!! FIREBALL!!!"
"The snow with its whiteness." A spear of ice appeared in front of Kin,
who had hastily scrambled away from Ryuuko. When the two attacks hit they
cancelled each other out. "Hey! I just saved your life! See that," he pointed
to an arrow embedded in a tree. "And those?" The villagers had formed an
angry mob and found them.
"L-sama! RAY WING!" Ryuuko flew off.
"Hey, wait for me! The winds with their swiftness." Kin uttered his
flight spell, and took off after Ryuuko.
"What kind ok magic did you use Kin? I've never heard a spell like that
before."
"I don't doubt it. It's part of an old rune. I learned it when I was very
young, and adapted it for different spells. I can recite it without setting
off any spells, if you'd like me to explain it."
"Kay, go ahead."
"Right.
In this fateful hour
All heaven with its power
The sun with its brightness
The snow with its whiteness
The fire with all the strength it hath
The lightning with its wrapid wrath
The winds with their swiftness
The sea with its deepness
The rocks with their steepness
The earth with its starkness
All these I place between myself and the powers of darkness
The first two lines are only used to boost the power, or if you're using the
whole spell. Then its a light spell, something like a Freeze Arrow, a fire
spell, lightning, a flight spell, water, something like a Stone Spiker, and a
multi-purpoise earth spell. If you need to kill or destroy something big you
use the whole thing."
"Hmmm... interesting. Bye!"
"Huh? Wha-where are you going?" Ryuuko was starting to float back down to
the forest.
"I'm leaving. See ya."
"Hey! Wait for me!"
"'Scuze me. I said I'm leaving. I don't remember inviting you." The glare
Ryuuko shot him, combined with her purple slitted eyes was somewhat unnerving.
"Awww, come on. I saved your life. Can I come? Pleeeeeeeese?"
"Fine. But any funny stuff and you're gone. And I don't just mean outta
my sight gone, I mean outta this plane of existance gone."
"We really need to work on your people skills."
Ryuuko scowled, and floated down to the trees, muttering something about
how she would've healed and a certain pesky annoyance.
A few hours later, after they had started a fire, caught cooked and eaten
dinner Kin was laying on his cape going to sleep and Ryuuko was sitting by
the fire thinking.
~Lina and Zely were my only two friends. Why didn't I just go with them?
Because I wanted to find my place and make friends. Hah! I'm certainly doing
a good job with that.~ Her thoughts were interrupted by Kin.
"What's wrong? You seem a bit troubled."
"Just wondering how I got stuck with you."
"I don't believe you for a second. But if you really don't want to tell
me," Kin shrugged. "Good night then, Ryuuko." Kin turned over, but not before
he saw a smile on Ryuuko's face. It was quickly replaced by an expressionless
stare. ~She should smile more often. She's prettier when she smiles.~
***************************************************************************************************
The next morning Kin woke up and immediatly noticed that Ryuuko was gone.
He sat up with a start.
"Ryuuko?!?"
"Wha?!?" Kin turned around and saw her sitting beside the lake. She
haistly stuffed something into a small leather pouch near her, then picked it
up, stood up and turned around. She looked annoyed. "What?"
"Sorry. Thought you'd left. What were you doing?"
"None of your buisness!" Kin noticed that she had changed her outfit. She
now wore a blue turtleneck with baggy blue pants and a black belt. The pouch
was hanging from the belt. She wore soft ankle height leather boots, and her
hair was in its usual braid. She also had a cloak, held together in the front
with a pearl clasp. The cloak was black with blue rectangles on the purple
edging. "Pack. We're leaving."
"Where are we going?"
"A town a little less than a days travel from here. What are you looking
at?!?"
"You changed your outfit."
"This is easier to travel in. If you're coming with me then pack and
come. I'm leaving." Five minutes later, Ryuuko and kin were walking along a
path heading to town.
"Ryuuko, why don't you trust me?"
"I don't trust anybody."
"What about your friends and family?" Ryuuko shook her head. "Are you
ever gonna tell me anything about your past?"
"I'll give you the short version. I was born, my parents raised me for
fifteen years, I left to travel. A few months ago I met up with my parents
and my two friends. Stayed with them for a while, kicked some major mazoku
@$$, then left. I could still trust people then, but..."
" 'But'?" Ryuuko shook her head.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Kin realized that he was probably lucky
she told him that much and dropped the subject. They continued their walk to
the town in silence.
"Is this the town?"
"Yup, we're here. Perfect. It's about an hour till the restarraunts open
for dinner. C'mon."
"Where are we going?"
"Outskirts of town on the other side. We're meeting someone."
"Who and when did you contact them?"
"Getting a little nosey aren't we? Just so you know, it was your idea to
follow me so I don't have to tell you anything. We're meeting my friends and
I haven't spoken to them since I left."
"But then how do you know they'll be here?"
"Easy. The restaruant that serves the best and biggest portions is also
the most expensive. There's a bandit gang outside town about half an hour
away from the restaruant. They'll get rid of the bandits, help themselves to
the loot, and come back. We'll meet them, and possibly join them for dinner."
"That's not what I meant. Two more questions. One how did you know thay
would be in this town? And two, 'possibly'?"
"One none of your buisness. Two, I came here to answer a question and
that depends on the answer. Three, if you're comming then come!"
The pair walked to the edge of town and waited. Before they had been
there for five minutes, two figures emerged from the trees. The two froze
when they saw Ryuuko. There was an uncertain pause, then Ryuuko spoke.
"Lina? Zely? It's me, Ryuuko."
"Ryuuko! It is you! I knew it!" Lina ran up and hugged her friend.
"I told you we'd meet again!"
"Are you ever gonna get tired of calling me Zely?"
"Maybe. It's good to see you again too, Stone Boy!"
"I think I prefer Zely."
"Ryuuko how did you know we were here?"
"Sore wa himitsu desu!" Ryuuko grinned and winked. Kin noticed that she
had relaxed a great deal. She had smiled more in the last thirty seconds with
them, then the day and a half she'd known him.
"So Ryuuko, are you gonna introduce me to your friends?" He noticed her
smile lessen and she tensed up a bit.
"Lina, Zely, meet Kin Kohaku. Kin, these are my friends, Lina Inverse-"
"One word about me being the dragon nester or dragon spooker and I'll
Dragon Slave you into the next town."
"And Zelgadis-"
"Zel."
"Greywers. Kin is-"
"Her friend." Ryuuko glared at him.
"I'm getting just a little tired of these interruptions. And Kin is the
person I've been traveling with for the past couple of days. I just can't
seem to get rid of him."
"Really Ryuuko that wasn't very nice. And after I saved your life too."
"I would've been fine with or without you! Just drop it!" The two began
arguing, which turned to Ryuuko throwing spells at him, which he either
blocked or dodged. Watching them, Lina suddenly got an idea.
"Looks like it's my turn to play matchmaker for you, Ryuuko."
"What do you mean by that Lina?"
Lina giggled nervously and sweatdropped. ~Oops! I forgot how good Zel's
hearing is.~ "Uhhh I'll explain later. Let's go get some dinner. I'm
starved." Zelgadis looked at her suspiciously, but let the subject drop.
"Come on you two! We're going to dinner. You're welcome to come with us if
you want. My treat!"
Ryuuko tossed one last Fireball at Kin. "Coming!" Kin dodged, and
followed, not saying a word, just smiling.
***************************************************************************************************
There was enough food on the table to feed a small army, as was the usual
when one dined with Lina Inverse. Also as usual, Lina was inhaling food like
a small tornado, and Zel sat quietly sipping his coffee. Ryuuko and Kin
enjoyed their meal a bit slower than Lina.
Lina took a short break from food to start a conversation. "So Ryuuko,
have you found where you belong yet?" Kin suddenly found himself paying more
attention to what was being said than what he was eating.
"Ummm...no not really."
"Huh? Why not? You left months ago. Have you at least found any other
friends besides him? That is why you said you were leaving."
Kin looked at Ryuuko who seemed rather uncomfortable. ~She left her only
two friends to find where she belonged? Something's wrong with that story. If
that's why she left, then why did she scare those villagers? Was it a lie? Or
did something happen between then and when we met?~
"No. I didn't really meet many people. I found this old cabin, fixed it
up, and lived there for a while. I was on my way here when he came along, and
wouldn't get lost."
Kin edged a little closer to Ryuuko.
Ryuuko glared and whispered back. Kin merely raised
an eyebrow and went back to his dinner.
***************************************************************************************************
"Hello Lina."
"Gahhh! Wha-Ryuuko?!? Oh, it's the dream thing again, right?"
"Yup. So what's up with you and Zely?"
"Well, both of us know that we like the other, but right now we're just
kinda continueing as we always have. How bout you and Kin?"
Ryuuko snorted. "You've gotta be kidding! Okay, I admit that he's a
little cute, but other than that he's just annoying."
"Uh-huh, sure. So are you gonna explain that load of bull you gave us at
dinner?"
"Huh? Whaddya mean?"
"Ryuuko, you're a terrible liar."
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Fine. If you won't talk to me then I'll just wake up and go talk to Kin.
I'm sure he'd be delighted to find out that you think he's cute."
"You wouldn't."
"No I wouldn't. You can trust me."
"Somehow, that's exactly what I needed to hear." It was
impossible to
tell if Ryuuko was being sincere or sarcastic. "Kay, then..."
***************************************************************************************************
The next morning, Ryuuko was awakened by a loud crash, caused by Lina nearly
ripping the door off its hinges opening it. Ryuuko did what any normal person
would do, having just been woken from a peaceful sleep by a rather loud and
unexpected noise: she gave a surprised yell. Then she did what most normal
people don't do: she called up a Fireball to deal with the intruder.
"You can put out the Fireball ,Ryuuko, it's just me."
"Lina? What-"
"Ryuuko, you okay? I heard a crash and a shout."
Ryuuko decided that it would be a pity to waste a perfectly good
Fireball. "Don't you knock?" She threw the Fireball at Kin. He dodged and
stuck his head back in.
"You know Ryuuko, wood is flammable." There was a shout from downstairs,
and a pillar of smoke began to rise. "I'll take care of it." Kin left, and
Ryuuko turned to Lina.
"What did you-"
Zelgadis appeared in the door. "Lina?"
"Wasn't me this time." Zelgadis left.
" 'This time'?"
"Don't ask."
"Fine. New question. What was so important that you nearly had to break
down my door to tell me?"
"Well tonight-"
"Hello." Kin was back. "Just thought you'd like to know, the fire's out."
Ryuuko promptly tossed another Fireball out the door. Assorted curses and
more smoke rose from downstairs.
"Not anymore."
"I'm sensing some hostility here." Kin left to extinguish the flames.
"Tell Zel that I didn't start that one either Kin." Lina then closed the
door and turned around. "Now, as I was saying. The village is having a big
celebration/party/feast thing tonight to celebrate me and Zel getting rid of
the bandits. You're invited."
"I'm not going."
"Please?"
"No."
"Pleeease?"
"No."
"Pleeeeease?"
"No."
"Okay how about this. You name a condition that I have to meet. I meet
it; you have to come, I don't then you don't. Kay?"
"Any condition?"
"Excluding anything having to do with Luna or slugs."
"All right, I'll come if you wear a dress for this thing."
"A dress? Me? In a dress? Fine. Get dressed, we're going shopping."
"W-what?"
"I don't own a dress; we need to buy one."
"We have a deal. Now come on, I need your opinion." Ryuuko sighed and did
an instant change. She headed towards the door and perked up a bit. The party
might be bad, but shopping was fun.
Kin spotted them as they left the inn.
"Hey Ryuuko, wait up!" He started to follow, but stopped when Zelgadis
put a hand on his shoulder.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
"Why not?"
"They're going shopping."
"How can you tell?"
"Observation and experience. When you see that face and a full coin
purse, you turn around and run."
"Thanks."
"No problem."
***************************************************************************************************Nearly two hours later, Lina and Ryuuko had decided on a dress. It was
crimson with spagetthii strap sleeves. The dress went down to her knees, and
around the waist was a sash that tied in a small bow on the side.
"It looks great Lina. Not too flashy, not too plain. And the color is
definitly you."
"I can't believe I'm in a dress."
"Well if you'd rather not-"
"No. You're going to this party even if I have to wear a ballroom gown
with glass shoes."
"That would be interesting. Come on, change back and buy that. I'm
hungry. It's almost lunch time and I missed breakfast."
"Kay, I'm comming." Lina and Ryuuko spent the rest of the day hanging
out, then preparing for the party.
***************************************************************************************************
"Are you sure it looks okay Lina?"
"You look fine."
"It's not too fancy is it?"
"Naw, everyone's dressed up."
"Everyone except Kin and Zely."
"They don't count."
"Hey!" The voice came from outside the door. "How come we don't count?"
"Kin! Why are you listening to our conversation?"
"I was just wondering if you two were ready yet."
"Go to the party, Ryuuko and I will meet you there."
"See you two later then."
"Okay, Ryuuko, just a few more finishing touches." Fifteen minutes later,
they were ready to go.
The celebration was being held in a large building near the center of
town. On their way over, the few people they met up with, stopped them to
thank Lina for getting rid of the bandits.
"It'll be interesting to see what happens when you walk in and the whole
town wants to thank you at once."
"Good point. Why don't we find a less obvious way in?" The two managed to
slip in unnoticed. Zelgadis found them soon after, but Kin was nowhere to be
seen.
"Trying to escape being mobbed by the crowd?"
"Right as usual Zel. Come on, people are gonna notice I'm here sooner or
later, and I wanna get in at least one dance tonight. Bye, Ryuuko." Lina and
Zelgadis headed off towards the dance floor.
"Excuse me miss, would you like to dance?" It was one of the young men
from the village. Ryuuko looked up, revealing her eyes. The young man hastily
backed away. "Uh, sorry, I uh I just remembered something." He dissappeared
into the crowd. Ryuuko spotted him a few seconds later, talking to another
young man, and pointing at her. The second young man looked at her, nodded
and the two separated. Soon enough, no one would go within five feet of her.
"It's always like this. Humans are horrible creatures, with two
exceptions of course." (Remember, I let Zelgadis become human last time.)
Suddenly Ryuuko heard a familiar voice over the crowd.
"She is not a monster! You people are all idiots!" Kin emerged from the
crowd and walked over to Ryuuko, who was more than a little surprised.
"Hello. Oh wow, you look... beautiful." Ryuuko was wearing her blue dress,
but she had let her hair down. As a result of being kept in a braid all the
time it was very wavy. On her head was a sort of tiara, fashoned of a single
blue rose and a few sprigs of baby's breath. "Um would you like to dance?"
"Uh-sure." Ryuuko took the offered hand and the pair began to dance.
"You know, I think you like me a lot more that you let on."
"Why did you defend me after the way I've treated you?"
"Because what they were saying about you wasn't true, and I'm your
friend. Right?" Ryuuko looked up at him. She smiled and relaxed a bit.
"Right. We're friends. I do trust you, you know."
Kin raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
"I wouldn't have let you travel with me if I didn't."
"Yare yare, my little Ryuuko has a boyfriend." Ryuuko turned in the
direction of the voice.
"Father?!"
"You expected Zelas maybe?" Ryuuko ran up and hugged her father. By this
time Lina and Zelgadis had arrived.
"Is mother here? Kin, come meet my father."
"I know who he is." Kin's tone was cold. Ryuuko turned around to see him
scowling.
"Kin what's wrong?"
"He's your father? Do you know what he did to my kind?"
Xellos's usual close-eyed cheery grin had been replaced by a solem look.
"I was under Zelas's control when I did that. I am truly sorry for my
actions."
"Oh, so you think just saying I'm sorry is gonna fix it?"
"Kin, stop."
"Why are you defending him? He's a heartless monster."
"Kin he's not a monster. He's my father."
"How can you side with him, knowing what he's done?"
"Kin-"
"Is that why you didn't like me? Because of what I am?"
"Kin please-"
"Were you gonna kill me too?"
"STOP IT!" Ryuuko slapped him. Hard. "JUST STOP IT! I'M NOT MY FATHER! I
THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO BE FRIENDS, BUT YOU'RE JUST LIKE HANAKO!"
Ryuuko turned
and ran for the door. As she opened it she could hear people starting to talk
about her. On top of everything else it was just too much. She burst into
tears as the door closed and ran for the forest, needing to be alone.
Back inside, Lina did what came naturally when a friend was hurt. She
injured the person responsible. Kin recieved a severe beating.
"I can't believe you did that! You scum! How could you do that to her?
You'd better go find her and apologize before I Dragon Slave you into the
next town!"
"Lina, do you know why my daughter made that comment about Hanako?"
"Xel, something happened after she left a few months back." Lina turned
to Kin, who hadn't moved. "What are you still doing here?!? Go find her and
apologize!"
"But what about Hanako?"
"One, Ryuuko is more important. Two, I'm telling him because he's her
father. You're just a jerk. If she wants you to know then she'll tell you
herself. Now go!"
***************************************************************************************************
Ryuuko had gotten herself throughly lost, which was exactly the way she
wanted it. If she didn't know where she was maybe no one else would. She sat
down, pulled her knees up to her chest, wrapped her arms around her legs, and
cried.
~I trusted him! He said we were friends and then he just turned on me.
Just because Xellos is my father. Because of something I couldn't control.
He's just like Hanako. Sooner or later all of them are gonna turn on me. The
only person I can trust is myself.~
"Ooooooo what do we have here? I know who you are. You're that little
half mazoku, half dragon twit, aren't you? Why so sad? Don't worry, I'll put
you out of your misery." Ryuuko looked around and spotted the speaker. It was
a lower ranking demon sitting in a tree, about a dozen feet overhead.
"A lower level demon? I'm glad you're here. I'll feel better once I've
killed you."
"We'll just see who kills who, you pathetic half-breed."
***************************************************************************************************
"Ryuuko!?! Ryuuko, where are you?!?" Kin was getting worried. Something
in the back of his mind was telling him that Ryuuko was in danger, but he
couldn't find her and if she heard him, she wasn't answering.
***************************************************************************************************
"So who are you, demon?"
"I am from the clan of the great Joyrock. That is all you need to know,
considering you're about to be dead."
"Joyrock? So what are you, Gladstone? Happypebble? No matter. I won't
even need to use the whole spell to take care of you. Prepare to die, pond
scum!"
"Oh this should be interesting."
"Demon's blood in dragon form
Great power lies within
I call upon my dragon family-"
***************************************************************************************************
Kin glowed golden for a second, then the glow faded. ~What was-Ryuuko!
She must be using that spell she told me about! She is in trouble!~
***************************************************************************************************
"And my demon kin"
***************************************************************************************************
Back at the party, Xellos was surrounded by a black glow with bits of
silver that faded after a few seconds. "Ryuuko is casting her spell.
Something's up." The group left the party, looking for Ryuuko.
***************************************************************************************************
~Girl's better than I thought. I need to attack before she does.~ "Hey,
half-breed! Catch! DOKKASOU!" (I borrowed this attack from a manga.)
Ryuuko tried to dodge the attack, but it sliced her arm.
"Is that it? These scrapes will heal in no time!"
"Oh, I don't doubt it. Problem is the poison from that attack will kill
you in just a few minutes."
"RYUU MAZOKU FLARE!" The demon was caught in Ryuuko's attack and was
vaporised instantly, without Ryuuko even having to use the full-force
version. Ryuuko stumbled over to a tree. "I need to cast a healing spell.
Otherwise I'm toast. That thing wasn't kidding."
"Ryuuko!" Ryuuko looked over and saw Kin.
"What do you want?" Kin stepped forward.
"Please, I want to help. I can use my rune to get rid of the poison." He
reached for her arm.
"Don't touch me! Just stay away!" Ryuuko tried to pull her arm away, but
the poison was really affecting her, and she couldn't quite manage it.
"Ryuuko please I'm sorry. Let me help.
With Ryuuko in this fateful hour
All heaven with its power
Tha sun with its brightness
The snow with its whiteness
The fire with all the strength it hath
The lightning with its wrapid wrath
The winds with their swiftness
The sea with its deepness
The rocks with their steepness
The earth with its starkness
All these I place between myself and the powers of darkness"
Overhead lightning crackled. A chill wind blew through the forest. Kin
pulled Ryuuko closer, trying to keep her warm.
"Ryuuko?" No answer. "Ryuuko?! Ryuuko! No, I failed! I was too late! She
wouldn't even have been out here if it wasn't for me."
"You came back. To help. You're not like her. You didn't betray me."
"Ryuuko you're alive!"
"I'm cold. And tired." She pulled herself closer and Kin hugged her. Kin
let her rest like that for a few minutes before asking a question.
"Ryuuko, who's Hanako?"
"She was my best friend. When I was growing up we played together
everyday. We told each other everything. When one of us was sick the other
would visit. She didn't know I was half demon, she just thought I had strange
eyes. We were like sisters. Only had one fight ever for twelve years. The day
i left to travel, is the day she moved to the city. She said I could visit
anytime. She said we'd be best friends forever. After I left Lina and Zely I
went to find her. I met her one day just outside town. She was with a bunch
of other people, a few girls, but mostly guys. I went to introduce myself,
but when they saw my eyes and realized what I was they started throwing
stones at me. I told them to stop, that I was Hanako's friend. She said I
wasn't her friend, that I was a monster. She started throwing rocks at me too
and..." Ryuuko had started to cry.
"Ryuuko it's okay. You've got real friends now. Ones who won't abandon
you."
"But you did..."
"I know, and I'm more sorry for that than you know. I was mad at your
father. I should never have yelled at you. Can you forgive me?"
Ryuuko nodded
and rested her head on his chest. "No wonder you didn't trust people."
"I trust you. I'm gonna take a quick nap." She gave him a quick kiss on
the cheek and snuggled up against him. Kin looked down at her, a bit
surprised, then smiled and waited for the others to find them.
THE END
Next time, I'm gonna try for a funny one. C'ya!
